Jonathan Dauermann is among 10 members of SF State’s class of 2009 who will be honored on stage at Commencement. The Bachelor of Music degree recipient is a hood recipient—receiving the symbolic investiture of the hood on behalf of his fellow graduates in the College of Creative Arts—and will sing the national anthem at the event.
Master of rare instrument dazzles at Disney Concert Hall
Alumna Mary Chun, conductor of the Earplay new music ensemble, recently showcased her unique skills playing a rarely used electric instrument called the ondes martenot.
Alumna Michelle DeYoung, a Grammy winning mezzo-soprano, recently enjoyed several gigs with the San Francisco Symphony. Performing works by Schubert and Berg, DeYoung (attended ’89-’90) garnered acclaim from Bay Area classical music critics.
