Wendy Diamond trained in ballet in London at the Dance Center of Covent Garden, and in New York with Jocelyn Lorenz, Haynes Owen, and Finis Jhung. Her modern dance training began at UC Berkeley then continued on to New York with members of the Limon Company before returning to the Bay Area. She has performed throughout California with Berkeley Ballet Theatre (Sally Streets, Director), the Ellen Bromberg Ensemble, Della Davidson Dance Co and numerous other choreographers. Wendy has had a long-time collaboration with aerial dance innovator Terry Sendgraff, with whom she toured to the International Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, CO and performed locally for many years. Her current teaching credits include ballet, modern dance and improvisation at SFSU and advanced ballet at the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. She has taught ballet floor barre at the CSU Summer Arts Festival, ballet at School of the Arts, SF, Berkeley Ballet Theatre, Cazadero Music and Arts Camp, LaMorinda Ballet and the East Bay Center for Performing Arts. Wendy's approach to her classes at SFSU is to give students an overview of Ballet in the I level class, emphasize the importance of placement and perfection of footwork and lines in the level II class, then use technique to find the "dance" in Ballet III with pointe work as an option. She has also co-taught trapeze, bungees and improvisation at the International Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder Co with Terry Sendgraff. Wendy's choreography has been shown in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz and Nicaragua. Her work has been produced by Summerfest/Dance, SF and other local venues. She has choreographed numerous pieces for the University Dance Theatre at SFSU. In 2004-2005 she choreographed the movement for Carlos Baron's "Poeta Pan" which performed in SF and toured to Chile.
