Kathleen has been singing her whole life. She attended all-state festivals throughout high school and found a second home in the choir room. College came later, when her path led her to Iowa to study with the esteemed choral/vocal jazz director Phil Mattson. She sang in his acclaimed vocal group, VoicesIowa. She finished her degree in Choral Music Education/Piano at Northern Arizona University under the direction of Dr. Edith Copley.

After teaching choral music at an arts high school, Kathleen traveled with her jazz/funk/soul band, then made her way back to San Francisco where she recently completed her graduate work in Choral Conducting with Dr. Joshua Haberman. She is an Artist-in-Residence at SF School of the Arts and also teaches vocal jazz at San Francisco State University. She is the newest member of the vocal a cappella group, Clockwork and is currently singing with and writing for her SFSU group, SoulSemble.
