Jonathan Dauermann is among 10 members of SF State’s class of 2009 who will be honored on stage at Commencement. The Bachelor of Music degree recipient is a hood recipient—receiving the symbolic investiture of the hood on behalf of his fellow graduates in the College of Creative Arts—and will sing the national anthem at the event.
A bass singer, Dauermann has performed in the University’s top choir, the SF State Chamber Singers, and in campus productions including the opera “Orpheus in the Underworld.” In 2007-08, he studied abroad at a music conservatory in Germany where he learned German and polished his vocal skills. After graduation, he will return to his native Southern California to pursue a career in vocal performance. Dauermann has a role in the Center Stage Opera production of Puccini’s “Tosca” in June in Canoga Park.
SF State’s 108th Commencement takes place May 23 in Cox Stadium on campus.
