Description
Audience participation at designated on-campus concerts scheduled by the Department of Music. Required each semester of music majors each semester that they are enrolled as such (up to 8 semesters).
Goals
To ensure that music students have consistent exposure to polished performances; to model standard performance practices; to foster a sense of intra-departmental support among students by encouraging them to attend the performances of their peers and instructors.
Grading
This is a CR/NC class. The grade is based solely on attendance; to receive a grade of CR, students must attend 15 approved on-campus concerts in the course of the semester. Performing in SMD-sponsored concerts/recitals can count for up to five concert credits, provided the concerts are not multiple performances of the same repertoire.
