Becoming a Dance Major at SFSU

Dance Auditions:
New students who seek to begin technique classes beyond the basic levels of instruction are required to audition. Students should come to the placement audition prepared to take a technique class consisting of Modern, Ballet, and Jazz techniques.

No special preparation is needed. At this placement audition, students are evaluated by several dance faculty members. These recommendations are submitted to an advisor who assists the student with scheduling of his or her classes.

The next All-Dance Meeting/Placement Auditions is:

Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1:30 PM
Fine Arts 203 Dance Studio

Student Showcase (Sneak Preview Day) Room 203 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Starting the application process:
Take the initial step by applying to the University.
